We run Listen To Your Body strength studios and MD Exercise Physiology clinics across South Australia and Victoria. We are always looking for good people, not just when a role is open. If you are the kind of person who notices the nervous one in the corner, we would like to know you.
MJ Health Group is the company behind Listen To Your Body and MD Exercise Physiology. Together they do something most gyms and most clinics cannot do alone: take someone from "I have not trained in years and I am nervous" through clinical assessment, a safe start, supervised strength training and years of consistency.
Most of the people we look after are women between 40 and 65. Many are navigating menopause, an injury, a health condition, or simply the feeling that gyms were never built for them. Our job is to make them feel safe, seen and strong.
Mission: help people build strong, healthy bodies for life.
Vision: a leading integrated training and allied health model across Australia.
Seven values. They are not a poster. They are how we hire, how we coach, how we treat a client on a flat day, and how we treat each other when something has gone wrong.
"Culture is not the values on the wall. It is what the quietest person on your team does when nobody senior is watching."
James Capurso, Director
Some roles sit in one studio. Some cover several. A few are remote or hybrid, and we are building toward more locations, so if you are somewhere we are not yet, tell us anyway.
We hire for character first. Qualifications matter, and for clinical roles they are non negotiable, but the thing we cannot teach is noticing. If one of these sounds like you, register your interest whether or not it is listed under current opportunities.
Some of the best people we have ever hired were not qualified when we met them. A member who wanted a career change. A student who needed placement hours. Two pathways, one aim: build the relationship early so nobody good gets missed because they are not ready yet.
MJ Health Group is affiliated with FIT College. If you want to become a Personal Trainer, we can connect you with the Certificate III and IV in Fitness, keep in touch while you study, and let you know when coaching roles come up.
This is for the 45 year old member who has quietly been thinking about a career change for two years. For the 21 year old who has trained here with his mum since school and already understands how we coach. For anyone who lives our values and is not yet qualified.
How it works. Register your interest. We talk about your goals. We connect you with FIT College. We stay in touch while you study. You qualify. You apply for a suitable role and, if you meet our standards and a position is available, you go through our normal recruitment process.
MJ Health Group may receive an affiliation or referral fee from FIT College. Completing a qualification does not guarantee employment with MJ Health Group. Our interest is helping the right people into the industry and building a coaching team for the long term.
Register for the PT pathwayStudying Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physiotherapy, allied health, business or marketing? We take expressions of interest for practical placements, work experience and observation, internships, casual work while you study, and graduate roles.
Exercise Science students progressing toward accreditation as an Exercise Physiologist are the people we most want to grow with.
A placement here is structured, not observation. An induction on who we are and how we work. Time across both Listen To Your Body and MD Exercise Physiology. Client communication and professional conduct. Supervised practical experience appropriate to your discipline. Regular feedback. A final review, and a conversation about future employment where it fits.
Placements depend on supervision capacity, your university's requirements, insurance and placement agreements, suitability and conduct, professional and clinical requirements, and the needs of the business. An expression of interest is not a guarantee of a placement or of employment.

We record where you are up to (expected qualification or graduation date, placement window) and we get in touch at the moments that matter: before a placement, at the end of it, six months before you graduate, and when a relevant role opens. Not generic recruitment messages.
We are assessing whether you are right for MJ Health Group. You should be assessing whether we are right for you. Read both columns honestly before you apply.
You notice the quiet person in the room and go to them. You would rather have the uncomfortable conversation this week than the resignation next month. You keep notes because the next person needs them. You want to be better at this in two years than you are now, and you can say specifically how. You care what happens to a client after they leave your session. You want a job you are proud to describe.
You want a gym job while you look for something else. You like big classes where nobody expects you to know names. Feedback feels like criticism. Paperwork is someone else's job. You are looking for the least you can do for the pay. You would rather avoid a hard conversation than have it. None of that makes you a bad person. It makes this the wrong place.
One application, tailored to the role you pick. About ten minutes.
Resume, qualifications, availability, and two questions we ask everyone about how you actually work.
Short scenarios from the real job. There are no trick questions. Specific beats polished.
Optional. 60 to 90 seconds on your phone. If you send one, we watch it before we call, so the call is a conversation.
Everyone hears back within three business days. Strong fits hear from a real person within one. Nobody gets the black hole.
A call, then time on the floor or in the clinic with the people you would work with. You are interviewing us too.
Not seeing your role or your location? That is normal. Most of the people we hire registered their interest first and were contacted when the right opening came up. Register below and we will keep you in mind.
Ten to fifteen minutes, done properly. Choose your role, tell us who you are, answer the role questions and the four we ask everyone, and record a short video if you can. Every application is recorded, every applicant hears from a real person, and the strongest fits hear within one business day.
